“Bago i-offer ang isang teleserye kay Bea, dadaan daw muna kay Marian,” claims one report
Is it true that Marian Rivera should see first a project before it gets offered to Bea Alonzo?
This was the rumor that GMA creative head RJ Nuevas belied in his latest Facebook post, saying that Bea was the first choice in all the projects that she had as a Kapuso.
RJ reposted a Facebook post that picked up a report from Ogie Diaz’s Showbiz Update vlog, where his co-host, Brenda Lualhati, said that the projects Bea had to be offered to Marian first.
In the caption, RJ denied the report, saying that Bea’s projects were not offered to Marian or other actresses, including her upcoming primetime series “Widows’ War.”
RJ wrote, “Hindi po ito totoo!
“Hiningan po ako ng concept for Bea Alonzo, at ang naisip ko at ipinasa at naaprubahan ng mga boss ay ang ‘WIDOWS’ WAR.’
“Para po talaga kay Bea ang show at walang inalukan na iba.
“Ganon din po ang dalawa niyang naunang shows.”
The other two shows Bea did for GMA-7 were “Love Before Sunrise (2023)” and “Start-Up PH (2022).”

In Ogie’s vlog, Brenda claimed that a friend working in GMA-7 was the source of the information.
Brenda said, “Di ba, sina Bea at Marian ang pinakasikat sa GMA? May kaibigan ako sa GMA, nasabi lang sa akin na bago i-offer ang isang teleserye kay Bea, dadaan daw muna kay Marian. Siya muna ang uunahin. Kapag hindi tinanggap ni Marian, pupunta kay Bea.”
Even then, Ogie countered Brenda’s report, saying that this is just a story passed on to his co-host and is not confirmed.
“Hindi yan confirmed. Naikwento lang sa ’yo. Hindi naman natin alam ang totoong kwento. Ang sinasabi lang naman ni Brenda na bago tanggapin ni Bea ang isang teleserye, nauna nang ialok kay Marian. Nakakaloka. Hindi naman natin alam ang totoong kwento diyan.”
Bea and Marian have not shared any reaction about the issue.
Currently, Bea is preparing for “Widows’ War” with Carla Abellana while Marian is taping for her comeback series, “My Guardian Alien.” She is also working on the sitcom with Dingdong Dantes, “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa.”
