Fans will still see Herlene Budol on a pageant stage!
Days after Herlene Budol’s sentimental farewell from the pageant world, she has yet again made buzz across the net, this time, claiming that she’s not yet over with her pageant journey.
“Hipon Girl,” as she is commonly called, has initially announced in a YouTube vlog that her pageant dreams have been fulfilled and that it is time now to withdraw from joining beauty pageants.
However, the “Magandang Dilag” star had a change of heart, as she admitted through a YouTube lie detector interview in the show “Dapat Alam Mo!” with Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez that she’s gearing for another try.
Susan asks, “Herlene, sasali ka pa ba ulit sa ibang beauty pageant or end of the road na ba ang pagiging beaucon-era mo? Yes or no?”
“Sali pa ba ako o hindi? Oo yata…maybe? Pwede po, maybe,” answers Herlene, which was then verified by the lie detector equipment as true.
Kim had a follow-up question: “E, di, yung pag-goodbye mo sa YouTube, hindi pala tunay na goodbye yun?”
Herlene then proceeds to explain that what she meant with “signing off” is the uncertainty whether or not she will still compete internationally under the Miss Tourism Philippines title.
She explains: “Kumbaga, wala pa pong franchise na kukuha dun sa international na paglalabanan ko. After noon, lalaban pa rin ako sa international.”
According to her, she will opt out of other beauty pageants after the culmination of her international stint.
“After nun, magpapahinga muna ako at papagalingin ko muna sarili ko. Focus muna ako sa kung anong meron ako ngayon. Magpapatalino po ako at saka magpe-pray.”
Herlene Budol’s withdrawal from the pageant world
Contrary to her recent statements, Herlene had decided to quit from joining through a YouTube vlog she uploaded in light of his manager Wilbert Tolentino’s resignation as her handler.
This is my last pageant, ba-bye. Herlene Nicole Budol, I’m signing off.”
Herlene is currently the reigning Miss Tourism World Philippines—a title under Miss Grand Philippines owned by Arnold Vegafria.
Miss Grand Philippines came to be her second attempt in representing the Philippines on an international stage. While she failed to secure the highest crown at stake, she still placed among the royal court as Miss Tourism World Philippines.
She first joined in the 2022 edition of Binibining Pilipinas, wherein she landed as first-runner up from her podium finish.
Herlene banners GMA-7’s afternoon series “Magandang Dilag” with Kapuso actors Benjamin Alves and Rob Gomez.
