How Sarah Lahbati Got Convinced To Do Showbiz Comeback

“The timing felt very right,” says Sarah

After almost eight years of not being active in doing TV projects, “StarStruck V” Ultimate Female Survivor Sarah Lahbati is back.

She is one of the female leads of the upcoming VIVA-TV5 afternoon series “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa,” with Kiko Estrada as her leading man.

As part of the promotions for her comeback series, Sarah attended the media conference of the TV show on Tuesday, April 2 at TV5 Media Center along with her co-stars.

During the Q&A, FreebieMNL asked Sarah what made her say yes to finally going back to showbiz after many years.

According to Sarah, it was just the perfect timing for her to make a comeback.

She explains, “I think unang-una, yung timing, the timing of the TV series being presented to me felt very right, and then of course, the content, the material, noong binasa ko yung material, sabi ko, parang para sa akin ito.”

Indeed, Sarah made the right choice the first time she stepped on the set of “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.”

She says, “Yun na nga, when I started working on it with the whole team, our directors, the writers, and my amazing co-actors, it was a confirmation na I made the right decision.”

“Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa” is helmed by Albert Langitan and Roderick Lindayag. Sarah’s co-stars, aside from Kiko, include Rhen Escano, Sid Lucero, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Gardo Verzosa.

Admittedly, Sarah had first-day jitters on the set, given that it has been eight years since she was last part of a drama series.

Sarah tells FreebieMNL, “Yes, kinabahan ako noong first taping day kasi ang tagal ko nang hindi ginawa ito.

“But it continuously feels right. Every time magte-taping ako, it just feels right that I’m back with these people.”

In the series, Sarah plays Mercy, the daughter of a human-rights lawyer Atty. Balmores (Gardo) who has been doing illegal activities to steal a piece of land owned by her adoptive sister, Tacing (Ana Abad Santos).

She then gets involved with Tacing’s son, Norman (Kiko), who seeks vengeance and justice after Balmores killed his mother.

Sarah’s last TV project was the 2017 afternoon series “The Promise of Forever,” where she had a short role. She was also part of the 2019 movie “Mission Unstapabol,” which was her last acting project before she made a hiatus.

The announcement of Sarah’s showbiz comeback came at the heels of her controversial break-up with estranged husband Richard Gutierrez.
