Janella: “Valid naman siguro ‘yung tampo ko”
“Darna” star Janella Salvador has admitted that her recent cryptic tweet is about ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic, as confirmed by DJ Jhai Ho through the YouTube podcast “Marites University” on Tuesday, July 11.
The 25-year-old actress recently tweeted, “Ah k. Noted” on July 8, just a day after her talent management Star Magic released its 30th-year catalogue.
The catalogue’s cover features a group of Star Magic talents, including Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Joshua Garcia, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Jane De Leon among many others.
Even in the absence of a concrete context, many netizens have speculated that Janella’s tweet might be a direct swipe against Star Magic and its decision not to include her on the cover, as hinted by the star and magic wand emojis in the said tweet.
As of writing, the tweet has already garnered more than 11,000 likes and 2,000 retweets, as fans and critics left their varying sentiments over Janella’s exclusion from the cover.
In July 11, DJ Jhai Ho shared with his “Marites University” co-hosts Rose Garcia, Ambet Nabus, and Jun Nardo that he made an effort to send the tweet to Janella, bearing a note that reads: Palaban.”
In return, Janella has replied with: “Palaban ‘pag tama ‘yung pinaglalaban. Valid naman siguro ‘yung tampo ko,” confirming what was once a speculation of her resentment against Star Magic.
While Janella is not included on the cover, she still has a separate page inside the catalogue.

Direk Lauren Dyogi set to apologize to Janella Salvador
ABS-CBN’s head of TV production Laurenti Dyogi is set to offer Janella his apologies, according to a statement obtained and publicized by comedian and talent handler Ogie Diaz.
“Sinabi sa akin ni Direk Lauren noong July 8, 5:49 ay hindi pa raw niya nakakausap si Janella, at hihingi na lang daw siya ng dispensa kay Janella,” Ogie says in a separate vlog released on the same day.
As Ogie puts it in the words of Direk Lauren, there was a necessary layout adjustment that prompted them to add extra pages. More so, there are also a number of talents, which are not included on the front page.
To date, July 13, still bears no confirmation yet of the expected reconciliation between the ABS-CBN executive and the actress.
Janella is reported to banner a series under Dreamscape Entertainment with Joshua Garcia, with details still wrapped. Janella is also reported to be paired with Thai actor Win Metawin for an upcoming film.
Aside from Star Magic, Janella is co-managed by esteemed manager Manny Valera since she joined showbiz.
Janella has been a talent of ABS-CBN since 2012, the time she was introduced in her first teleserye, “Be Careful With My Heart.”
