Janno honors “the sweetest dad ever”
Janno Gibbs has commemorated his late father Ronaldo Valdez through an Instagram photo.

Days after the confirmation of Ronaldo’s death on Sunday, December 17, Janno has published a photo on featuring him and his father in matching brown hoodies and shorts. The two of them are shoulder to shoulder and both radiate wide smiles.
It comes with a caption that reads, “The Sweetest Dad Ever,” followed by praying hands and heart emojis.
Several celebrities such as Tina Paner, Vhong Navarro, Ruffa Gutierrez, Angelika dela Cruz, Phoemela Baranda, Geneva Cruz, and Dominic Ochoa, have offered their condolences to the bereaved musician.
Ogie Alcasid has also taken his time to reminisce about Ron Valdez who he views as a “Wonderful human being.”
He writes, “He was a wonderful human being bro. Naalala ko lahat ng kwento mo tungkol sa kanya. He was your hero and your no 1 fan too. He was so proud of you. Yakap my brother. Dasal para sa pamilya.”
Prior to this, Janno confirmed Ronaldo’s death through a short Instagram post. It reads, “It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father’s passing.
“The family would like to request that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment. Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated. “
Janno is the brother of Melissa Gibbs. Both of them are Ronaldo’s children with wife Maria Fe Gibbs.

Ronaldo Valdez throughout the years
Ronaldo Valdez was born on November 27, 1947 with a legal name Ronald James Dulaca-Gibbs.
Ronaldo was discovered by the late “King of Comedy” Dolphy in the ‘60s. From there, Ronaldo was then ushered into the world of showbiz as a renowned actor and comedian.
His first major film is the 1969 film “The Mad Doctor of Blood Island,” in which he co-starred with the American actor John Ashley.
After this, Ronaldo landed respective roles in “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan” (1982), “May Minamahal” (1993), “The Flor Contemplacion Story” (1995) and many more in the succeeding years.
Throughout Ronaldo’s career, he managed to establish his name as a patriarchal figure in acting. Some of the most notable roles he played were “Mahal na Konde” in “Cedie” (1996) and “Lolo Sir” in the ABS-CBN series “2 Good 2 Be True” (2022).
Ronaldo’s years as an actor were merited with prestigious awards. His recognitions include awards from Film Academy of the Philippines, Gawad Urian, Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Star Awards for Movies, and Metro Manila Film Festival.
Ultimately, the Golden Screen TV Awards lauded Ronaldo with the Helen Vela lifetime Achievement Award for Drama in 2015.
