Ronaldo Valdez was commemorated by some celebrities
It has been a mournful Sunday for the entertainment industry after veteran film and television actor Ronaldo Valdez died in the afternoon of December 17, 2023.
The Quezon City Police district confirmed the actor’s passing at the age of 76.

Following the confirmation of his death, several celebrities, including Kathryn Bernardo, Aiko Melendez, and Dimples Romana, paid tribute to Ronaldo’s life as an actor and a colleague.
Kathryn has shared multiple slides on Instagram story, showing random clips of Ronaldo when he was still alive. The curated videos include some of their dearest moments, including a Karaoke night, a birthday celebration, and random eat-outs.
Kathryn had worked with Ronaldo in 2022 for the ABS-CBN series “2 Good To Be True.” The veteran actor played the role of “Lolo Sir” while Kathryn bannered the series with ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla.
Aiko Melendez has also taken the time to share one fond moment with Ronaldo on Facebook.
Aiko uploaded a screenshot of her and Ronaldo from the 1993 film “May Minamahal.” It comes with a caption that reads (published as is), “Tito Ronaldo [praying emoji] Rest in Peace.
“Your memories will live on and on… This picture was taken during the filming of one of our iconic movie together ‘May Minamahal.’”
“He played my father. I’m blessed to experience his generosity as an actor and a friend. You will be missed [praying emoji]”
Dimples Romana, on the other hand, has mourned Ronaldo’s departure with a lengthy tribute on her Instagram account.
Dimples has reminisced about her moments with Ronaldo during the 2009 taping of a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode titled “Bisikleta.”
In the post, Dimples shares the indelible mark that Ronaldo had imprinted on her life. More so, she emphasized that the actor had been one of her strongholds back when she felt “lost and broken” and “spent and exhausted.”
While Dimples admits that she’s heartbroken over the loss, she says that she will never be disheartened, for she will always carry “all the learnings, the laughter, and the lessons that came with lots of smiles and realizations.”
Other celebrities pay tribute to Ronaldo Valdez
There has been a silent pain among other celebrities, verbalized only through posts about Ronaldo’s life. Some of the other stars who celebrated Ronaldo’s life are Jake Ejercito, Darren Espanto, Andrew Gan, as well as Ronaldo’s sons in “Los Bastardos,” Marco Gumabao, Jake Cuenca, and Albie Casiño.

Jamela Santos, Ronaldo’s talent manager, adviser, and friend, has also shared an account of her last dinner with Ronaldo.
In a lengthy and emotional post shared by Jamela on Instagram, she reveals having dinner with Ronaldo in the evening of December 15. According to her, it was a despedida celebration since she’s leaving for abroad soon. But little did she know, it would be the last time she’ll share a table with the actor.
Part of her post talks about an enduring friendship between her and Ronaldo, As she puts it, “I never cared for another human being as much as I cared and love you.”
But on top of that, Jamela speaks of how she will get through her life now that Pepe—as she fondly calls Ronaldo—is gone.
Details of Ronaldo’s wake and interment are yet to be shared by his family.
