Jaya’s House Burns Down Less Than A Year After She Moved To The US

The soul singer announced the sad news on Instagram.

Jaya, aka the Philippines’ Queen of Soul, took to Instagram after a sad incident. Her family’s house in the US burned to the ground. She posted an update to reassure her fans and friends that her family was unharmed.

Alongside a photo of her ruined house, Jaya wrote, “God is so good! Our house just burned to the ground but we are all safe! I have no words but GOD IS GOOD!”

Her colleagues from the local entertainment industry sent well wishes. They expressed relief after Jaya confirmed the house was the only thing that was damaged. She didn’t say exactly what caused the fire but despite the incident, she remains grateful to God.

Jaya and her family moved to the US last year and settled in Washington. In a previous interview, she admitted that the pandemic took a toll on her mental health. She also revealed that her husband Gary Gotidoc suffered a mild stroke back in 2020.

“I focused only on one thing. I didn’t realize until much later that I was already feeling depressed, sad, and scared,” she said.

Although she kept herself busy, she still had some struggles. Jaya recalled how they kept the faith despite the challenges. Soon, they decided to migrate to the US.

“The point is, He provides. Things start to arise when your faith rises. That’s also the reason I’m going to relocate to the States soon,” she said at the time.
