An emotional Kim says, “Lahat naman ng nangyayari sa buhay natin, it’s written”
Kim Chiu could not help but be sentimental as she reflected on the concept of heartbreak and moving on during the Valentine’s Day episode of ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
During the “Expecially For You” segment of the program on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the 33-year-old actress-host’s eyes welled up on a female contestant named Fe.
Fe–a widow—was once betrayed by her deceased husband after he left her for another woman. But seven years later, the two got back together again and tried their chances in love for the second time.
Just when Fe thought everything was going well, her husband was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and had passed away amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Such a story has moved the “It’s Showtime” hosts, including Vice Ganda and Kim Chiu, who stated their respective piece on the matter.
Vice highlights the importance of giving people the right dues for no one ever knows their struggle in love. More so, he emphasizes that bouncing back after betrayal or heartbreak is no easy task.
In response to Vice, an emotional Kim says, ”At saka lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay natin, di naman yon by chance or by accident.”
With her eyes brimming with tears, Kim continues, “Lahat naman ng nangyayari sa buhay natin, it’s written. Ginawa na ‘yon bago pa man tayo ipinanganak. So, mas madaling tanggapin lahat ng bagay.”
In addition to this, Kim adds, “Parang lahat ng nangyayari sa bawat tao, like si Mommy Fe, hindi naman nangyari yung paghihiwalay nila by accident.
“Sadyang itinadhana yun and then ibinalik sa kanya, and then tinanggal ulit sa kanya, and that made her strong.”

Kim Chiu’s emotions have evidently overflown on the topic of moving on, which can point to her personal experience after a much-publicized breakup with long-time beau Xian Lim.
On December 23, 2023, Kim has confirmed their breakup weeks after rumors of their separation made it within the public radar.

Prior to their confirmation, Kim had already been dropping hints about her love life—which indicated trouble in paradise.
Even netizens have noticed that the ex-couple were not sharing any photos of them together. And more than that, Kim has graced the red carpet of the ABS-CBN Ball alone—compared to the previous years when she used to be escorted by Xian.
