“She deserves to be happy,” Paolo Contis echoes
Actor Paolo Contis has extended his well wishes for ex-lover LJ Reyes, who just got engaged recently to non-showbiz boyfriend Philip Evangelista.
LJ had taken to social media the news of her engagement on Monday, May 30, 2023. In turn, Paolo’s name was publicly brought up, with many wanting to know his thoughts on the news.
“Of course, I’m very happy for her. She deserves to be happy,” the actor replied in a text message he sent to reporter Nelson Canlas, which was reported via GMA News “24 Oras.”
In a short exchange with PEP.ph, Paolo’s sentiment is just the same as he says, “Masaya ako for her. Kasi, deserve niya maging masaya.”
Prior to Paolo’s joyful sentiment, he had been reluctant to comment since, according to him, bashers will say one bad thing against him one way or another.
It was only during his hospital visit to manager Lolit Solis at FEU Hospital that he expressed his thoughts on the engagement.

Before LJ Reyes’ engagement
LJ and Paolo’s relationship lasted for six years, which ended in a relatively public manner in 2021. August of that year when LJ confirmed the split, followed by her decision to fly to New York with kids Ethan Akio and Summer Ayana.
Aki is LJ’s son with actor Paulo Avelino, while Summer is her daughter with Paolo Contis.
In January 2023, Paolo had come to admit his misgivings over his relationship with LJ.
More so, he admitted the once-speculated romance he has with actress Yen Santos— the primary point of suspicion as to why Paolo and LJ broke up.

Paolo and Yen are rumored to have developed feelings for each other during the taping of their film “A Faraway Land.” The shoot took place in Faroe Islands, Denmark and it ran from November 2020 to December of the same year.
