Sarah to Mommy Divine: “I love you, Ma!”
Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo has finally re-established her lost communication with mother Divine Geronimo.
It can be recalled that Sarah and Divine’s ties were severely cut after the singer’s wedding with Matteo Guidicelli on February 20, 2020.
But four years since the wedding, it seems like all is finally well between Sarah and Divine—particularly with Divine’s conviction towards Sarah’s husband, Matteo.
In an interview with Dyan Castillejo for “TV Patrol” on Monday, March 25, 2024, Sarah says that she and her once-estranged mother are currently civil with each other.
On the fact that they are already back on speaking, an elated Sarah says, “Yes! Yes! Thank you, Lord. I love you, Ma.”

Sarah’s warm sentiment was followed by Matteo’s equally jolly remarks, “I love you, Ma! And we love our moms, right?”
The singer has also shared how she often receives fresh produce from her mother who currently sells greens in Quezon City.
Sarah shares, “Ang mama ko po, nagse-sell ng ano niya, produce niya. Mga gulay, fruits. Binigyan ako ni mama, red rice, ganyan!”
This has not been the first time that Sarah shared about her rekindled relationship with her mom.
Early this March, when she was awarded as a Global Force recipient by Billboard US, Sarah has extended her gratitude to Divine who she calls as her “hero.”
She says, “But women, especially mothers out there, shout out to my mother, Mommy Divine Geronimo. You are the best, you are my hero, I love you very much.
“I mean I cannot imagine myself being a mother, all the sacrifices that a mother has to do for their child, it’s mind-blowing.”

What happened at Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli’s wedding reception?

According to a PEP.Ph report published in February 2020, a commotion transpired during the reception proper of Sarah and Matteo’s wedding—with witnesses pointing that an uninvited Divine stormed the venue.
A close friend and a counselor to the couple, Letty Fuentes, narrated the clash via ABS-CBN news, saying that Divine was hysterical and shouting, “Traydor kayo.”
The witness even revealed that Divine attempted to slap Matteo. In an attempt to mediate the heated moment, Sarah then fell to the ground together with Letty.
It was also revealed then that Sarah and Matteo attempted many times to get married, but due to Divine’s strong refusal, the couple’s plans got foiled.
