Sarah quips that she’s the “ate” of the Singles Club
The rumor renders itself true after Sarah Lahbati directly confirmed her separation from husband Richard Gutierrez via ABS-CBN News.
The model-actress confirmed her single status in an interview with MJ Felipe for “TV Patrol” on Friday, March 1, 2024.
MJ asks, “So, ikaw ba ang leader ng Singles Club,” to which Sarah replies with, “Pwede naman, bilang ako yung ate nila,” while laughing.
Answering the question, “Is it a confirmation already na you’re single now?” Sarah shares, “I mean, there’s nothing to hide and I think it’s pretty clear to the public that both of us are. I think.”
Sarah, for her part, has been handling the matter with grace. As she puts it, “Grateful. I mean, grateful makes me happy and glowing and all that.”
According to her, she finally moved into her new home in January 2024 and is currently in a co-parenting setup with Richard for their kids, Zion and Kai.
“We share them. We have our own schedule and that’s private,” Sarah shares.

Days prior to her confirmation, Sarah reveals in a separate interview with TV5’s ‘Frontline Pilipinas’ that her relationship with Richard is not at all cordial. More so, she understands that the current setup is not ideal for their kids.
She says, “Well, of course, it’s not ideal for the children. Let’s go back to the kids. But that’s life and that’ll be fine.”

The ex-couple’s real status started getting hounded by rumors after eagle-eyed netizens noticed in November 2023 that they no longer share photos of each other on social media.

This was then followed by stronger speculations after Sarah changed her Instagram bio “Sarah Lahbati Gutierrez” to “SLG.” Not long after that, she also wiped out the initials in subtle confirmation of trouble in paradise.

Amid breakup rumor, Richard was romantically linked to Sparkle artist Kazel Kinouchi—which was later then debunked by the actress herself in a TikTok live in November 2023.
