Jennifer Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney are expecting their first child. The 31-year-old was spotted in New York catching up with a friend over lunch with her baby bump in sight. She looked lovely in her floral overalls and jelly sandals, and she seemed to be excited about motherhood.
A Timeline of Their Relationship
Lawrence’s representative confirmed to PEOPLE that the actress is indeed pregnant. Her partner Maroney is an art gallery director, who she met through her friend Laura Simpson.
The couple was in a rumored relationship in June 2018 and got engaged the following year in February. She got proposed to with an emerald-cut engagement ring designed by jeweler Alison Lou.
During a guesting on Catt Sadler’s podcast in June 2019, she gushed about her partner, describing him as “the greatest human being she’s ever met.” Lawrence just knew he was the one because of how genuine he is, and she feels honored to become a Maroney.
In October 2019, they tied the knot in Rhode Island with a star-studded guest list that included celebrity friends Adele, Amy Schumer, Cameron Diaz, and Emma Stone.
Forecasting the Future
The Hunger Games actress has long expressed wanting to become a mother. In a November 2015 issue of Vogue, Lawrence got candid about having her views on marriage and starting her own family. “I can’t wait to be married. I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children, that I would absolutely not f*ck it up,” she said. A moment later, she quips about not banking on it, but the universe was in her favor, after all.
It’s still unknown how far Lawrence is in her pregnancy so there’s no saying when her due date is.
