The Queen of All Media has been diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases.
Kris Aquino took to Instagram on Monday to update her followers about her health. She also asked netizens to refrain from spewing malicious rumors and comments.
“Hindi niyo po ako kailangan gustuhin para magpakatao… please don’t punish Kuya & Bimb for being my sons. Hindi po masama ang maglakas ng loob at magsabi ng sobrang bigat na katotohanan,” she wrote.
Kris admitted that while she and her team of doctors have fervently battled her illness, her condition has now evolved into “‘life-threatening.” The former TV host feels she owes it to those praying for her recovery to be honest about her condition. She’s currently preparing to leave the country amid claims that she’s in intensive care.
She then addressed the rumormongers, saying, “Masyado kayong advance. Para klaro ang lahat and dahil gusto niyong patayin na ako—well, I am not yet dead. I am going to fight to stay alive.”
She now has three autoimmune diseases: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and vasculitis. Autoimmune diseases are incurable. Her body also doesn’t respond well to anti-inflammatory medicines. That makes it hard for her doctors to manage her symptoms.
It was in 2018 when Kris first opened up about being “allergic to everything in the environment.”
She went to Indonesia for a shoot and experienced a severe allergic reaction. Kris then took to Instagram to thank the people who got her first aid and helped her fly safely back to Manila. After that, she was advised to go on bed rest for five days “to flush out all allergens” from her system.
“The EpiPen in my medical emergency kit helped save me,” she then wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post.
