Lovi Poe is ready to wow the world in the upcoming Hollywood biopic “The Chelsea Cowboy.”
In this exciting new project, Lovi will portray Dana Gillespie, a British blues singer, songwriter, and actress known for her roles as Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and Julie Kovago in “Strapless.”
She will be joined by Alex Pettyfer, who will star as the English actor and bodyguard John Bindon, and Poppy Delevingne, who will star as the English actress and model Lady Victoria Hodge.
“So excited to start filming this one in [the United Kingdom] in September,” Alex posted on Instagram. “I promise you this it’s gonna be a wild one!”
According to Deadline, the biographical film will be based on the “rise and fall of underworld hard-man turned actor Bindon, who despite a successful acting career and passionate romantic liaisons with members of high society, was unable to leave his criminal past behind.”
Lovi took to Instagram to share the news about her upcoming movie, saying, “Can’t wait to start filming The Chelsea Cowboy in October… Excited to be working with this amazing team of creatives!”
“The Chelsea Cowboy” director Ben Cookson also expressed his excitement to have Lovi join the cast.
“The team and I are delighted to have Lovi onboard and can’t wait to see her portrayal of Dana Gillespie—a sixties icon and charismatic singer and actor, whose own life would indeed make an amazing biopic,” he said.
Multihyphenate Idris Elba will also be involved in the film as an executive producer, together with the award-winning producer and writer Victor Glynn. The biopic will be produced by Life Begins, GCB Films, and Dark Dreams Entertainment.
