The Pressure to be “Successful”

Like the majority of the population, she had to put certain plans on hold when the pandemic hit. This just added another layer of uncertainty to the future, which made her ask herself how she can prove that she’s more than just a beauty queen or a model. The former Miss Universe even contemplated going back to school since she didn’t earn a college degree what with focusing on her career. Social media is another thing that puts pressure to find what she’s passionate about and be successful.

How Pia Deals with Her Quarter-Life Crisis

Acceptance has been the key to dealing with the situation. She says the first step to doing so is admitting to yourself that you are going through something as this could lead to clarity and direction. “It’s okay that I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen with me. It means that other things can happen to me.” Changing her perspective to thinking she has plenty of time to do things instead of how she’s running out of time has also helped.

Advice for Others

For those who are also going through a quarter-life crisis, “Think of it as part of the journey, rather than a crisis.” Failure and mistakes are a normal part of life. When you start questioning where you’re headed, remember that it’s okay to not have everything figured out yet and find the beauty and joy in the uncertainties.
