TikTok star Addison Rae tweeted that she has been permanently banned from the app. Apparently, she violated Community Guidelines and was restricted from posting any content. Fret not, though, because her account has been restored, and you can resume scrolling through your For You page for her content.
Why Was She Banned from TikTok?
The 21-year-old tweeted on October 15 to inform her followers about the suspension from the social media platform that launched her career. She uploaded a screenshot of the message she received that said, “Your account was permanently banned due to multiple violations of our Community Guidelines.” Making light of the situation, she joked, “Well, time to get a job.”
Did She Really Violate Community Guidelines?
It turns out Addison’s TikTok ban was relatively short, and the account is active once again. “Her account was briefly down last night, then restored within an hour,” a TikTok representative told E! News. However, it’s still unclear why she was “permanently banned” or whether it was simply an error on the app. Other users have also aired their frustration over getting wrongfully banned as a result of mass reporting.
The Rising TikTok Star
If her name doesn’t ring a bell, it might be a shocker to find out that she’s one of the platform’s highest-paid influencers. According to Forbes, Addison earned $5 million in the previous year and amassed 85 million followers since creating her account. From recreating dance challenges, she is now also a singer and actress and recently starred in Netflix’s He’s All That.
Apart from her TikTok career, her followers can expect to see more of her on Snapchat. Addison signed a deal with the company to film an unscripted series documenting her return to her home state of Louisiana, years after moving to Los Angeles. All we know so far is that it’s titled “Addison Rae Goes Home,” and is anticipated to premiere in 2022.
