Tom Holland Talks About “Spider-Man 4” and “Across The Spider-Verse”

Will there be a fourth Spider-Man movie?

Tom Holland, known for his portrayal of Spider-Man, shared an update on the development of the fourth “Spider-Man” movie during the premiere of his Apple TV+ show, “The Crowded Room,” in New York City.

Tom revealed that while he couldn’t disclose much, he had been involved in meetings discussing the next chapter in the Marvel franchise. However, the ongoing writers’ strike halted those conversations.

Tom stated, “There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point, it’s very, very early stages.”

His comments echoed the sentiments expressed by “Spider-Man” producer Amy Pascal. She confirmed on Variety Magazine the production of another movie in the franchise but acknowledged the writers’ strike had paused their plans.

Amy said, “We’re in the process, but the writers strike. Nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters, and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

The Crowded Room

In “The Crowded Room,” Tom takes on the role of Danny Sullivan, a man arrested for his involvement in a 1979 shooting in New York City.

Through interviews with interrogator Rya (played by Amanda Seyfried), Tom’s character unveils his darkest secrets. Not only does Tom star in the series, he also serves as an executive producer. This allowed him to have a hand in shaping the show from its inception.

Reflecting on the experience, Tom shared, “Developing that with [creator] Akiva Goldsman, figuring out how we should pivot to a piece of fiction, working on casting our wonderful cast, finding the locations, picking the costumes, being involved in all of that stuff was just a dream come true.”

He also acknowledged the challenges faced during the process. But he also expressed his desire to be involved in similar projects.

Tom Holland’s thoughts on the “Spider-Verse” movies

In an Interview with Inverse at “The Crowded Room” premiere, Tom expressed his willingness to partner with Miles Morales in a future “Spider-Man” project.

“I would be honored to bring Miles Morales into the live action world. How we do that, I don’t know, but given the opportunity, I would jump at it,” he said.

He also gave his thoughts on the “Spider-Verse” films saying, “I think the first ‘Spider-Verse’ movie is the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made.”

While the development of the fourth “Spider-Man” movie is on hold, fans can anticipate further updates once the writers’ strike concludes.
