In the New Normal, a face mask is an essential item, and you shouldn’t be leaving the house without one. And by the look of things, they will still be around for a while longer. This has resulted in people accumulating an assortment of masks over the past year trying to find the right fit, material, and design for them. Following this trend, MoMA Design stores have also launched a collection of face masks featuring famous artworks.
Artworks featured include one of the most popular Vincent van Gogh painting, Starry Night Saint Remy (1889); a serene print of Claude Monet’s Water Lilies (1914-1926); Alma Woodsey Thomas’ Untitled (1968) colorful abstract art; a playful black and white print of Carmen Herrera’s Untitled (1952); and a statement mask of Ed Ruscha’s OOF (1962). These will all pair well with MoMA’s limited-edition watch collection in partnership with Swatch, which also comes in beautiful artwork-inspired designs.
The MoMA face masks are reusable and made from polyester with a cotton lining. For comfortable wear, it has elastic ear loops, adjustable ear straps, and a nose wire. Each mask even comes with a pouch made from recycled plastic bottle fabrics to neatly store them when they’re not in use. They retail for $15 (or P750, including VAT) and are available for purchase on the MoMA Design store website.
MoMA Design store also has other face masks like the Baggu Reusable Earloop Masks that come in a set of 3, Airinum Reflective Urban Air Masks and filters, Medipop single-use masks for adults and kids, Zensah Reusable Running Mask, and the Nuno Reusable Cotton Mask that’s available in 2 colors.
Be safe and stylish with these MoMA Artist masks. While medical-grade face masks are still the most effective when it comes to blocking particles, these creative designs can be layered on top of your surgical masks as experts recommend double masking.
