Hand-Embroidered Clothing Items for a Cause

The truth is that many garments end up in the landfill after just a couple of use because of how fast trends come and go. Of course, these mass-produced items come at a cost to the environment, and local designer Bianca Gregorio was determined to make a change. She founded her sustainable fashion brand Re Clothing and has since been advocating for a greener lifestyle.

Hand-embroidered Pieces

All the pieces from Re Clothing are either secondhand or made from dead-stock fabric and specially embroidered. They give new life to garments that could have otherwise been put to waste and add a personal touch to them. Shoppers could either choose from their collection or have something custom-made. There’s even the option to provide your own shirt to be embroidered.

Limited Editions

Because their designs are made in little batches, pieces are limited. The best thing about this is you’re sure to get something that’s unique. Their embroidered items convey stories or preserves a memory that gives the clothing so much more character. An example is their Flawless Collection which is all about self-love and embracing your insecurities, and the Notes to Self Collection which are reminders to be easier on yourself.

Women Empowerment

Re clothing isn’t just a sustainable brand, but it’s also one that’s socially aware. “Women empowerment is something we really push for especially since 85% of workers in the fashion industry are women,” Gregorio tells Nylon Manila. True enough, they work with garment communities and provide opportunities for stay-at-home moms residing in Rizal. They also released a collection that was inspired by the #HijaAko movement in 2020.

Aside from fun clothing items, they also produce embroidered home décor hoops and neoprene face masks made from deadstock fabric. Re Clothing continuously collaborates with other local brands, artists, and organizations for good causes. You can visit their Instagram page to view their hand-embroidered and vintage apparel or shop on their website.
