For great locally-made finds, check out the Gawang Lokal Bazaar in Ali Mall
As the Philippines celebrates 125 years of independence, Araneta City is shining a light on local wares yet again! The Gawang Lokal Bazaar (Locally Made Bazaar) is currently ongoing at Ali Mall, showcasing a number of items made by Filipinos for Filipinos.
Many bags, baskets as well as other woven products can be seen here, a nod to the country’s rich historical ties to the art of weaving. A quick scan of the booths will also reveal a wide selection of items such as wooden utensils & dishware, pottery and even a sungka table!

“Iisang Kalayaan”
Aside from the Gawang Lokal Bazaar, several other events are lined up at Araneta City to celebrate Philippine independence.
Their overarching theme is called “Iisang Kalayaan” (one independence). This celebration includes mall shows featuring beloved OPM acts and local musicians! Baliktanaw Sa Musika (a look back on music) featuring The Pastel Strings will happen at the Farmers Plaza activity area on June 10th.
Sunkissed Lola will have a mall show featuring their hit song “Pasilyo” and more at the Ali Mall activity area on June 11. The band Dilaw, rock hitmakers behind the viral song “Uhaw,” will hold theirs on June 12 at the Gateway mall activity area.
