Their success stories will inspire you!
Several e-commerce sites have experienced rapid growth since the pandemic began. In the Philippines, Shopee became one of the leading e-commerce platforms. As they continue to improve their platform, they also include local online sellers in their growth.
Some Cebu-based entrepreneurs shared how Shopee helped their businesses grow. They said they learned more about the ins and outs of online selling through the Shopee Kumustahan and Shopee University Roadshow in Mandaue City, Cebu.
“With consumers’ changing needs and shopping behavior, it is important that we provide our sellers with the necessary tools to help them thrive in the e-commerce space. We are committed to helping them find success through newly developed tools, monthly campaigns, newly developed tools, seller engagement events, and more,” says Martin Yu, Director of Shopee Philippines.
E-commerce on the go through the Seller Education Hub
Azela Taladua of BigGrocer Food and Grocery had zero knowledge about the effectiveness of e-commerce in online business. But Shopee Seller Education Hub equipped her with the knowledge she needed to navigate this new avenue for business.
“BigGrocer hired me to oversee their e-commerce channels, even though I didn’t have any background in this field. The different tools available on the Seller Education Hub, like Business Insights, made it easy for me to learn how to manage our online operations effectively,” shares Azela.
The Seller Education Hub is one of the many learning resources that Shopee makes available to digital entrepreneurs to help them find success online. It includes courses and webinars, available in both English and Tagalog, designed to cater to the needs of all kinds of sellers—whether they’re beginners, leveling up, or scaling up.
Building customer relationships through Shopee Live & Live Chat
Maintaining a good reputation in online selling is important. Jimmy Martinez of In Sweet J&J’s does both by engaging with customers through Shopee Live.
“Hosting Shopee Livestream sessions has helped us maintain relationships with our customers. Through our live streams, we’re not only able to interact with customers directly, but we’re also able to attract even more customers online,” says Jimmy.
Shopee Live features, such as Audio and Video Calls, the Livestream Flash Sale, and more help shops like In Sweet J&J increase engagement and establish user connections.
Boosting visibility through big campaigns
Shopee is known for its monthly campaigns, and sales have been pivotal to sellers’ growth.
Hilaire Labalan, a 20-year-old student and the founder of Ithra Jewelry, has reaped the benefits of joining these campaigns. Hilaire was able to attract new customers monthly.
“From starting with five weekly customers, we now have around 200. Joining the monthly sales and offering discounts and promotions enabled us to grow our customer base and generate even more sales for the business,” says Hilaire.
