Bea: “Matagal na tayong naka-move on lahat”
Actress Bea Alonzo seems to have remained diplomatic over the fact that her supposed role in the upcoming remake of South Korea’s “A Moment To Remember” will be filled by her ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend Julia Barretto.
Bea was initially announced as one of the leads in the film’s upcoming Philippine adaptation “Special Memory” with Kapuso actor Alden Richards. However, in May 2023, the actress “begged off” from the role due to conflicting schedules and contractual obligations with GMA-7.
The 35-year-old actress is currently filming with Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo for a series “Love Before Sunrise.” On top of that, Bea also appears as a mainstay in GMA-7’s newest reality program “Battle Of The Judges,” which debuted on Saturday, July 15.
Bea’s decision to pull out from the film left the banner role unfilled, with Julia taking it just a month after her official withdrawal from the movie.

Bea Alonzo is not bothered at all
But while it was public knowledge that Julia currently dates Bea’s ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson, the actress shows no signs of distaste over the new cast—be it intentional or not.
In an interview with PEP, Bea says: “Alam mo, kung ano mang rason, kung sinadya man o hindi, wala na ako roon, kasi wala na ako sa proyekto. Nasa sa kanila na yun.”
When asked what her reaction could be if it’s intended, she shares, “Wala naman akong… eto ang totoo, dahil wala na ako sa project, ayaw ko rin bigyan ng kahit na anong meaning.”
“Unang-una wala na ako sa project at wala na rin ako sa relasyon na yun. Matagal na… matagal na tayong naka-move on lahat,” she continues.
“Siguro, parang hindi na karapat-dapat na pag-usapan pa. At yun nga, paulit-ulit kong sasabihin, everything that’s meant for me will not pass me by and what’s meant for me will always find its way.”
Had it pushed through, “Special Memory” will come as Alden and Bea’s second collaboration after their first pairing for the Philippine adaptation of GMA-7’s hit “Start-Up PH.”
What follows Bea Alonzo’s withdrawal?
In June, Viva Inc. President and CEO Vincent del Rosario III officially confirmed that Julia Barretto will be Alden Richards’ new love interest for the film. But despite outright confirmation, Julia refused to comment on the news, saying, “We can talk about it when we get there.”
While Bea and Alden’s pairing for the movie was a lost cause already, they are still working together in GMA-7’s “Battle Of The Judges.”
Alden appears as the program host while Bea sits as one of the team leaders, together with Ms. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Jose Manalo, and Boy Abunda.
