Gerald offers a short but meaningful thought on Julia and Bea’s encounter
Gerald Anderson believes that time mends past wounds—taking into account the recent reconciliation of his current girlfriend Julia Barretto and ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo at a tribute party.
“Ganun talaga. You know, time heals,” Gerald says very shortly but rather meaningfully during an interview with MJ Felipe for “TV Patrol” on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Gerald’s sentiment on Julia and Bea’s revived friendship followed a month after the two actresses were seen greeting each other at the tribute party for star maker Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan.
The video taken at the event seems to indicate that Julia and Bea found forgiveness as they went for a quick hug and small talk.

Gerald had very little to say about what happened as he is currently training for a basketball tournament slated to happen on April 19, 2024 in Guangdong, China.
The 35-year-old actor is set to lead the Pola Pilipinas RPG Team with former PBA player JR Cawaling as the coach.

Gerald and Bea were once in a relationship after doing the 2016 film “How To Be Yours.”
However, in 2019, news of their separation broke across—with Julia being blamed as the third party.
The speculation sparked more intensely when Bea published a cryptic post on Instagram that reads, “You can’t make the same mistake twice. The second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a choice. ENOUGH.”
Days after, Bea has drawn the issue more clearly—this time confirming that she and Gerald had already parted ways. However, she was not made aware that they had already broken up and that the actor just decided to cut their communication.

Bea and Gerald’s fallout eventually led to the latter’s closer relationship with Julia. More so, the rumors alleged that their newfound closeness has also been a big factor in Julia’s breakup with her then-boyfriend Joshua Garcia.
As the net vilified Julia, she then released a statement in direct response to Bea’s “sly way” of attacking her. Part of her statement reads, “I would like to disassociate myself from the breakup of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own.
“Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me for you. You can play the victim all you want, but I refuse to be a victim.'”
It was only in 2021, two years after the controversy, when Gerald confirmed his romance with Julia via an interview with Boy Abunda.
After the revelation, Bea posted on Instagram about her recent life realizations, with a cryptic quote saying “Time is the ultimate truth teller.”
