More than a lover, Gerald is also Julia’s “bestest friend”
Julia Barretto celebrated the 35th birthday of her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, through a photo and a one-liner greeting on Instagram.
In celebration of the actor’s birthday on March 7, 2024, Julia has posted a photo with Gerald—showing both of them playing just by the rocky side of a river.
The photo comes with a caption that reads, “Happy birthday to my bestest friend [blue heart emoji].”
As the actress chose to celebrate Gerald’s another year through a simple post, her mom, Marjorie Barretto, did just as much by posting a few more words for the actor’s special day.
Marjorie has published a series of photos on Instagram—one of which shows her, Julia, Gerald, Dani Barretto, Leon Barretto, and other few close family members holding a special samgyupsal dinner for the actor.
Some of the slides show them intimately gathered around Gerald, while the last photo features Julia sitting shoulder to shoulder with her beau.
The caption reads (published as is), “Happy Birthday Ge! May all your prayers and dreams come true.”

The recent photos of Julia and Gerald point to a clearer indication of their thriving romance—despite persistent speculation that they already parted ways.
They even celebrated their Christmas in 2023 a little more intimate by traveling to the United States.

More so, Gerald is just as supportive with Julia when he graced the “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” premiere night with the actress.
“Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” is Julia’s latest film, co-starring Aga Muhlach as her love interest.
Julia and Gerald’s romance is constantly hounded by rumor of their split, which the actress directly belied and dismissed via ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Buhay” in February 2024.
When asked by Melai Cantiveros about it, Julia says, “Parang ganun ang balita every month. For how many years na talaga. Hindi ko rin alam saan nanggagaling.”
She adds, “I guess we’re able to create that private bubble of ours na hindi na nila alam masyado kung ano ang nangyayari sa partnership namin.”
With the constant speculation aimed toward their relationship, Julia says that it is all the more reason to take caution saand post very few details on their social media.
She says, “I think it’s a conscious effort on our end na talagang protektahan, na hindi kailangang mag-overshare, hindi dapat bawat galaw kailangan alam ng lahat.”
