“At least ngayon alam ko na ang pakiramdam,” says Marian Rivera about doing a Star Cinema movie
Marian Rivera was all praises for Star Cinema for the experience she had while doing the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry “Rewind,” which she co-stars with her husband, Dingdong Dantes.
In fact, Marian openly said during the film’s media conference, “Nakaka-proud na nakagawa ako ng isang pangarap kong pelikula.”
She would even share with Dingdong how overwhelmed she feels everytime they would be sent drafts of their scenes.
Marian says, “Kahit noong mga drafts pa lang yung pinapanood namin ‘tapos pinapanood nila sa akin, sabi ko kay Dong, ‘Dad, totoo ba ‘to?’ Kasi hindi nagsi-sink in sa akin na, ‘Ito na ba yun?’”
During the mediacon, FreebieMNL asked a follow-up question to Marian on why she thought that “Rewind” seemed to have fulfilled her dream movie.
She answers, “Actually, parang ang hirap i-elaborate lahat. Sa script pa lang, sabi ko na, ‘Wow, thankful na ako.’
“[Sa] kasama kong cast, actually, yun yung maganda sa amin kasi super bonding din kami dito. Yes, nagtatrabaho kami dito pero I’m looking forward na every time na papasok ako sa shoot, makikita ko ‘tong cast na ‘to. Ang saya-saya!
“Sabi ko nga, yun yung palagi kong goal, e. Every time na gagawa ako ng isang proyekto, gusto ko nagiging kapamilya ko sila at nangyari yan dito.”

Of course, it was a “bonus” that she was able to work with Dingdong on the project.
She adds, “Sabi ko nga, sobra-sobrang, lubos-lubos biyaya talaga na ipinagkaloob talaga ‘to sa akin. So, I’m very blessed. Napaka-thankful ko na ma-experience lahat ‘to.”
“Rewind” serves as Marian’s comeback to doing a Star Cinema film after 10 years. Her last was the 2013 comedy film “Kung Fu Divas” with Ai-Ai Delas Alas.
Dingdong, however, has been a suki of Star Cinema films, with “Fantastica” starring Vice Ganda as his last.
FreebieMNL then asked Marian if she and Dingdong talked about what to expect before shooting the film.
Marian says, “Alam mo, bago [kami] mag-start, isa lang sinabi niya sa akin. Sabi niya, ‘I’m very excited for you.’ So, the mere fact na sinabi niya yun, alam niyang mag-e-enjoy ako at sure siya na aalagaan ako ng Star Cinema.“

In the end, Marian is happy to have experienced doing the film.
“Sa kinukwento ni Dong sa akin, sa mga experience niya, sabi ko, ‘Dad, at least ngayon, alam ko na ang pakiramdam!’
“Actually, sa dami ng kinukwento niya, nahigitan pa yung experience ko. Kaya sabi ko, ‘Ay ang saya! May susunod uli!’”
“Rewind” is one of the 10 entries of MMFF 2023 which is currently shown in theaters until January 7, 2023.
