Mariel says the ribeye steak might just make her tear up!
Kapuso artist Mariel Pamintuan was back at the GMA Gala 2023, this time, bringing in comments way lighter than last year’s controversial judgment over the food served during the Thanksgiving Gala.
Mariel faced internet backlash in 2022 after her video went viral. It refers to a clip taken during the event dinner, wherein she was conversing with co-artists Shanicka Arganda and Ella Cristofani, about the food.
“Hello, may sinasabi po siya sa pagkain. Anong lasa ng pagkain,” she asks, to which one of her friends replies, “Lasang liver spread?” She then mocks it further by saying: “Okay, sabi po nila, lasang liver spread daw po yung pagkain namin.”
In a separate video, she even admits her outright bashing, as she says: “Binash namin yung food pero naubos naman. Naubos ko naman.”
“Appetizer pa lang yun. Meron pa tayong main course,” she adds, seemingly getting ready for yet another criticism.
This, in turn, had put her on the receiving end of bashing, as she ended issuing an apology over the remarks she rendered hastily.
What does Mariel Pamintuan say about this year’s gala food?
Just a year after drawing ire from the internet, Mariel returns to the gala—now, with nicer things to say about the four-course meal served last Saturday, June 22.

In a video uploaded by the actress, she goes on reviewing the food on lighter notes, as a response to a netizen that asked her, “Balitaan mo kami pag masarap food ah hahahahaha.”
“Babawi ako, kasi last time na-bash ako e. Maganda na ‘to, promise. Aayusin ko na,” the actress begins.
“Ten out of ten 10. Delicious,” she comments on Caesar salad.
“Sarap! Yummy, guys,” she says of the mushroom soup. She even quips that she might tear up on how delicious the rib eye steak was. Lastly, she says that the panna cotta was just as delicious.
FreebieMNL also had the chance to talk to her personally after the event. When asked how the food was, Mariel exclaims, “Masarap,” echoing her review shown in the video.
Mariel Pamintuan recalls the recently held GMA Gala
Just right after the event, Mariel has resorted to TikTok in an attempt to air some words of gratitude about the GMA Gala 2023.
She mentions GMA-7 Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, as she extends thanks and love for the executive. “I love all the bosses of GMA. Thank you for inviting me,” she adds.
Moreover, Mariel jokingly hopes that her contract be renewed “next year and the year after and forever,” so she can be the official food critic of every GMA Gala.
