Florence Pugh shared her frustration about not being able to share content from her new show after getting “blocked” to do so on Instagram.
“I never thought me posting love about a show in which I appear on would get taken down… but here we are,” she posted on Instagram Stories.
According to Florence, this happened after people complained about her Instagram post featuring her Marvel character Yelena Belova’s appearance on the miniseries “Hawkeye.” Some people said that it was a “spoiler” even though she shared the photos after the new episode premiered.
“Someone on here complained so I’ve been blocked from posting my own appearance on a show that I’m very much in,” she said. “Beyond ridiculous.”
Despite this frustrating experience, she’s ended her message on a positive note by expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the new series.
“Being in #Hawkeye is a privilege and thank you to all who welcomed me on set and off and all who are watching,” she said.
Florence’s character Yelena Belova, the adoptive sister of Natasha Romanoff, made her debut appearance on the Disney+ show “Hawkeye” on December 8, 2021. In the series, Yelena is hunting Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye because she thinks that he has a role in Natasha’s death.
“She’s going to continue what she’s good at, and despite her sister not being there, she’s back working,” Florence told Variety about what she thinks Yelena would be like in the present day.
“If you look at her costume, and you look at the way that she’s dressed herself, it shows someone that’s flourishing.”
