After leaving social media swooning with their dreamy duet last March, Maris Racal finally admitted that she’s dating Rico Blanco.
Maris laid out the real deal between her and the 48-year-old singer-songwriter during the Maalala Mo Kaya Media Con on Monday, where she kept the truth short and sweet: “Kami po ni Rico.”
“Basing po sa post na ginawa ko, I think it’s very obvious,” the 23-year-old actress said, referring to the viral birthday greeting on her Instagram which also included their sweet sing-along to Aqualung’s “Brighter than Sunshine.”
As a response, Rico left a comment — a subtle “love you” — under Maris’ sweet greeting, further causing a stir on social media. It also didn’t help to keep things discreet that celebrities left their kilig comments under the post.
Maris also shared that she and Rico have been creating music together. “Right now, we are very excited and busy din. We are preparing such beautiful music together. Kaya abangan nila ‘yun soon.” Unlike their newly-revealed relationship, their musical collaboration has been well-documented in recent years, with Rico writing, performing, and even slipping in a cameo in the music video of Maris Racal’s single, “Abot Langit,” released way back in April 2019.
Then, they worked together once more for Maris’ 2020 hit song, “Not for Me,” which Rico arranged and produced.
Maris also made it to the virtual media conference to promote an upcoming Father’s Day episode of Maalala Mo Kaya, where she’s set to star alongside veteran actor Cris Villanueva. The two-part special is slated to air this June 12 and 19.
