A source reveals that their relationship was “always casual”
According to PEOPLE, Taylor Swift, and Matty Healy have ended their speculated romance after about a month. The singer-songwriter and frontman of The 1975 were reportedly in a casual relationship but no longer romantically involved.
“She had fun with him, but it was always casual,” a source told PEOPLE. “They are no longer romantically involved.”
Taylor and Matty were seen together in public multiple times, including a visit to Electric Lady Studios in New York City on May 15, where they were joined by other celebrities such as Jack Antonoff, Margaret Qualley, Kendrick Lamar, and Florence Welch.
Matty attended all six of Taylor’s Eras Tour shows in Nashville and Philadelphia, joining her father, Scott, and friends like Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid in the audience.
During her Eras Tour concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Taylor expressed her happiness and gratitude to the crowd, stating that she had never been happier. She finally described her life as making sense and performed the track “Question…?” from her album “Midnights.”
“I’ve just never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life ever,” Taylor said. “And I just want to thank you for being a part of that.”
The couple was later spotted kissing at the members-only venue Zero Bond in New York City.
At BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee, Scotland, Matty indirectly addressed the romance rumors with a cryptic message to the crowd, implying that he would not be addressing the questions about their relationship.
“Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it?” Matty asked. “All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentlemen, this is The 1975.”
Taylor and The 1975 representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment. Despite their brief fling ending, Taylor Swift continues to focus on her thriving music career and her ongoing Eras Tour. The singer also recently released her “Speak Now” tracklist, including collabs with familiar faces.
