Carlo and Charlie will hit the big screen soon as lovers!
ABS-CBN’s Black Sheep, in collaboration with Kroma Entertainment’s ANIMA Studios, finally unveiled on Friday, July 31, the first trailer of a Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon-bannered film, “Third World Romance.”
The Dwein Ruedas Baltazar-helmed film headlines real-life couple Carlo and Charlie as lovers in a poverty-stricken Philippines, both of whom will share the big screen for the first time with each other.
Based on the trailer, Britney (Charlie) is an outspoken grocery cashier while Alvin (Carlo) is a laid-back grocery bagger working at the same grocery store.
Such a concept ushers viewers to anticipate the contrast and interplay of characters and how they will develop love moving forward.
The trailer has also given an overview of the underlying concept, focusing mainly on how Britney and Alvin will navigate their love through a series of economically embedded sufferings.
More so, Britney and Alvin’s characters have rendered a full introspection of priorities in a world that dismisses the concept of “love and happiness” as mere “luxuries in this harsh world.”
Carlo and Charlie are cast together with Ana Abad Santos, Gardo Versoza, Archi Adamos, Iyah Mina, Esnyr Ranollo, Xilhouete, Brian Black, Lady Morgana, Junjun Quintana, and Donna Cariaga.
‘Third World Romance” is set to premiere on August 16.

In January 2023, Carlo admitted to dating the “Fan Girl” star following weeks of persistent rumors about their romance.
Carlo confirmed this rather boldly during a media conference, with him even revealing that their relationship started when they returned to the Philippines after ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Tour in the United States in August 2022.
Succeedingly, Charlie has also substantiated their relationship with a confirmation during an interview with ABS-CBN.
Romance rumors sparked after the two were seen getting cozy with each other in a group photo. Even before the confirmation, Charlie and Carlo used to be casual on the set of the 2020 Kapamilya series “A Soldier’s Heart.”
