“Appreciate beauty without dragging anyone,” says one netizen
Social media personality Valentine Rosales has seen himself in yet another controversy after tweeting a hot take over teen actresses Belle Mariano and Francine Diaz’s looks on Saturday, April 8.

Rosales tweeted an unsolicited comparison between the two celebrities. The tweet reads (published as is), “Ako lang ba di nakaka-appreciate ng beauty ni Belle Mariano? Di ako nagagandahan sakanya eh, sorry pero mas gusto ko pa itchura ni Francine..”

Netizens react to Valentine’s tweet
The controversial tweet has gained over a thousand replies, mostly from Mariano’s fans who quickly came to her defense. Mariano’s love tandem, Donny Pangilinan, also had his fans rallying on Twitter in a seemingly rush of backlash against Rosales.
A number of Twitter users point at how unnecessary the comparison is, emphasizing that putting Diaz on a pedestal by dragging Mariano is an act so uncalled for.
We all know that she's not everyone's favorite but know how to respect you can appreciate/praise someone's beauty without dragging the name of others

Even though you don't appreciate her beauty but for us she's so amazing beautiful inside and out?#DonBelle #DONBELLEmpire pic.twitter.com/Azur8tqvuK
Appreciate Francine's beauty without dragging anyone.

God bless you ?

While many users have expressed their ire and disagreement over the comment, there are a few who echoed Rosales’ comment.
Di sa kinakampihan ko si V. Pero in my opinion,di rin talaga ko nagagandahan kay Belle. Di rin naman sya pangit. Sakto lang. Pero may times kasi na maganda sya lalo na pag bumagay sa kanya yung make up. ???

Rosales remained unbudging, though, with him tweeting another claim that goes (published as is): “Twitter ko to, I tweet what’s on my mind. Wag niyo ko mandohan ng gagawin ko dahil wala naman kayong ambag sa buhay ko., wala nga ako pakelam sa opinion niyo kaya wag kayo mangelam. We are all entitled to our own opinion.”

True as it may be over the premise of individualistic opinion, Twitter users are still restless over the issue as some people emphasized the thin line between an opinion and tactlessness.
You’re being called out because of what you said tapos ngayon pa-victim ka kesyo binabash ka. Yes, you are entitled to have your own opinion pero hindi kana bata para hindi maisip na hindi maganda yung sinabi mo. Use your brain, hindi lahat pwedeng i-tweet. Clout chaser!

Mariano and her management, on the other hand, chose to remain silent and have no counter-statement at the time of writing.

A Brief History of Valentine Rosales’s Fame
Rosales has been in and out of multiple internet gossips, in which he has developed a notorious reputation as a self-involved personality. It can be recalled that Rosales’s internet fame came after being involved in Christine Dacera’s case– a 23-year-old flight attendant who died in a hotel room in Makati due to ruptured aortic aneurysm.
Amid the 2022 election campaign, Rosales had pushed for another mileage of relevance by posting a make-believe 7/11 story on TikTok and Facebook. The faux narrative was taken divisively, with netizens pointing out an unrealistic scene that might have just conjured out of Rosales’s mind.
For no good reason, Rosales had also gained the attention of celebrity and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Chie Filomeno. In an uploaded driver’s license of Filomeno on her Facebook page, Rosales has commented, “Akala ko si ano…”
Filomeno then replied, “Alam mo tumigil ka ng clout chaser ka. Let her rest in peace please.” As insistent as Rosales is, he replied, “Haaa? Kala ko si Nadine! Ano ba sinasabi mo?” The feisty exchanges concluded with Filomeno’s, “Galing mo talagang sinungaling no? Papalusot ka pa eh.”
Without a single name mentioned, the internet assumed that the confrontation points to Dacera, who shares an uncanny resemblance to Filomeno in her uploaded driver’s license.
