Miles Ocampo and Atasha Muhlach will be joining the annual anthology series for the first time
Vic Sotto recently confirmed that the long-running show “Eat Bulaga!” is gearing up to revive its annual Lenten Specials, a cherished tradition they observe during Holy Week.
During the episode of “Eat Bulaga!” on March 9, Vic discussed how the casting for the Lenten Special episodes was determined through a draw. He also mentioned that viewers can anticipate these episodes airing on Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, and Holy Wednesday.
“Nabanggit natin ang pagbabalik ng ‘Eat Bulaga!’ Lenten Specials. Marahil, nagtataka kayo sino ang grupo para sa Lunes, Martes, at Miyerkules. Ang ginawa po namin ay nagbunutan kung Group A, B, or C at lahat ng mga magkakapareho,” Vic explained.
The “Eat Bulaga!” Lenten Specials is a longstanding annual anthology series aired during Holy Week, taking over the regular live noontime show in observance of the season. It originally aired from 1981 to 2008, returned in 2014, and had a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2024 “Eat Bulaga!” Lenten Specials
This year’s Holy Week special marks the acting debut of Carren Eistrup and Atasha Muhlach on the show.
Miles Ocampo, who joined “Eat Bulaga!” in 2022, will also take part in the Lenten specials.
The Holy Monday episode is “Selda ng Kahapon,” where fans will see Joey de Leon, Wally Bayola, Allan K, Carren Eistrup, and Paolo Ballesteros showcasing their talents.
Meanwhile, the episode “Love Thy Neighbor” will spotlight Tito Sotto, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, with Ciara Sotto as their special guest.
Forming the final group under the working title “Para Di Makalimot” are Ryan Agoncillo, Atasha Muhlach, Tirso Cruz III, Vic Sotto, and Miles Ocampo, with Ice Seguerra as guest.
The YouTube channel of “Eat Bulaga!” has also released a video showing behind-the-scenes from the shoot of the Holy Week Specials.
