Some Filipino celebrities have joined the latest trending app!
Meta-owned Instagram’s alternative to Twitter, Threads, is expected to launch earlier than expected. This follows disappointment among Twitter users due to new changes announced by Elon Musk, such as Rate Limit and verification requirements to access the tweet deck.
According to the app’s description, Threads is a platform where communities can come together to discuss various topics of interest. Users can follow and connect with their favorite creators and like-minded individuals or build their own following to share ideas, opinions, and creativity.

Threads will allow users to sign in using their Instagram accounts and follow the same users they already follow on the photo and video-sharing app. Users can also maintain the same username as their Instagram account, making the signup process hassle-free.
The functionality of Threads is similar to Twitter. It enables users to share their thoughts with the world. Other users can reshare, like, and comment on posts, identical to retweeting, commenting, and liking on Elon’s platform.
Threads is only available on the App Store and not on the Google Play Store. It briefly appeared on the Play Store over the weekend but was taken down after a few hours.
The app has been in development since January under the codename Project 92.
Currently, Filipino celebrities have also joined Threads, such as Bea Alonzo, Alden Richards, Heart Evangelista, Joshua Garcia, Dimples Romana, Iza Calzado, Jolina Magdangal, Rabiya Mateo, Jeric Gonzales, Kaladkaren, Bianca Gonzalez, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Ruru Madrid, Will Ashley, Belle Mariano, and Donny Pangilinan, among many others.
