The two have only been two years into their marriage
After two years together, pop singer Ariana Grande has reportedly ended her marriage with real estate agent Dalton Gomez.
According to TMZ, Ariana and Dalton have separated since January 2023 and are preparing their divorce papers. People Magazine also shared that the two have been “quietly and lovingly working on their friendship.”
Entertainment Tonight received a similar statement, while another insider told the outlet that friends of the couple had expressed concerns about their whirlwind romance, anticipating a short-lived relationship.
The latter source revealed that Ariana and Dalton faced challenges in their relationship. This includes scheduling issues that make spending time together difficult.
TMZ’s sources shared the couple had been experiencing problems even before Ariana traveled to the United Kingdom to film the “Wicked” movie. They noted that their attempts at reconciliation were unsuccessful.
“They remain friends and still talk on the phone regularly, but… the marriage is kaput,” the sources added.
Another source told People that the long-distance aspect of their marriage had been a significant issue leading to the relationship’s breakdown. Yet, Ariana still holds Dalton in high regard and considers him her No. 1 fan during their time together.
At the 2023 Wimbledon tournament, Ariana was seen in the company of fellow celebrities Andrew Garfield, Tom Hiddleston, and her “Wicked” co-star Jonathan Bailey without her wedding ring.
In August 2021, Ariana was also spotted without her ring in a makeup tutorial video on TikTok. But, she quickly dispelled any rumors of a split, explaining that she was getting the ring cleaned.
Ariana and Dalton began dating in January 2020. They got engaged 11 months later and exchanged vows in May 2021 in an intimate wedding ceremony with less than 20 guests.
