It’s sad news for Chelsea Alley fans
Chelsea Alley is parting ways with its front man, John Borja.
The announcement was made official through a Facebook post on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have to make this announcement, but we decided to be respectful to everyone who has supported us these past two years: we have mutually decided that we will be parting ways with our singer – and brother – John Borja. It’s a sad day for all of us, but the five of us duked-it-out and all came to an agreement that this is the best decision that we can make for all of us,” the statement reads.
According to Chelsea Alley’s post, they are thankful for Borja’s dedication for the past two years. They add that they will remain “forever grateful of the friendship” that Borja has shown to the band.
The Facebook post also mentions that he will still be seen playing with the band for the last time at the UP Fair this February 14.
Borja also posted on Facebook confirming the sad news.

John Borja Back as Family Man
In an exclusive FreebieMNL interview with John Borja on January 31, 2023 via Instagram, he mentions that he will be going back to the life that he is used to, and focus in being a family man.
But Borja’s departure from Chelsea Alley does not mean Borja will stop singing. “Kakanta pa rin naman ako. Pasundot-sundot na lang sa mga raket gigs,” he says.
As for his future plans, the former Chelsea Alley frontman shares that, for now, he will be working as a virtual assistant to gain finances for his family.
Borja has indeed, enjoyed the adventure with Chelsea Alley. But now, he has decided to prioritize his family.
“Na-enjoy ko sobra yung ride. Ang saya. Kaso, I’d rather choose to take care of my kids and work rather than [the] limelight,” Borja adds.

Borja has been through a lot—from the guy who made it to become a finalist of a talent search in the hopes of becoming the next Stone Temple Pilots vocalist to being scouted as the next front man of an all-star band. With everything, Borja emphasizes that he is happy with what he has achieved in music and could not wish for anything more.
“Okey na ako sa na achieve ko sa music, hindi na ako naghahangad pa,” Borja ends.
