Not only that, Christian Bables also made history as the first-ever male Star Patroller!
Actor Christian Bables has fulfilled his longtime dream of making it into “TV Patrol.” Bables’ special role happened when he became the Kapamilya Network’s banner newscast’s Star Patroller last Friday, March 24, 2023.
Bables, who made history in being the first male Star Patroller, waxes nostalgic on Instagram as he marked his feat.
“Last night’s ‘TV Patrol’ guesting was a dream come true. Naalala ko during my college days, we were given a chance to tour around the studios of ABS-CBN. Kuntodo porma ako that time hoping ma spot-an ng isang talent agent, or baka biglang kailanganin ng extra, pwede na agad ako sumabak (Oo ayun ang mindset),” he says.
According to the award-winning actor, he even hoped to meet ABS-CBN’s Chief Content Officer Charo Santos during that day in hopes of “begging” to give him a chance to audition.
Christian Bables’ humble beginnings
Christian Bables likewise admits that setting foot in the network when he was a lot younger was actually daunting.
“When I felt the air inside these studios, parang ang laki at ang labo bigla nung mga naiimagine ko sa pangangarap. Yung pakiramdam na sa sobrang laki at layo ng mga ito sa realidad, hindi mo alam kung papano mo sisimulan humakbang,” Bables recalls.
Knowing that he has no connections and no easy route going into the industry, he knew then that he only had two choices–to stay scared or to push through.
“… Dahil alam kong may purpose kung bakit nilagay ni God itong overflowing passion na ito sa puso at systema ko. PINILI KONG MAG PATULOY,” he writes.
His courage has paid off, and now, a decade later, he was able to perform in all the studios he previously visited.
“… And just last night, I was able to experience how it is to be alongside Kabayan Noli De Castro, Ms. Karen Davila, Sir Henry Diaz, and my ate Bernadette Sembrano. It was a dream come true! Small wins na pinipili kong i-celebrate dahil pangarap lang ito noon sa akin,” he says.
In the end, he leaves a huge reminder to those who are also chasing their dreams by saying, ”Remember this, SOME TIME, SOMEWHERE, THERE WILL BE SOMEONE WHO WILL SAY YES TO ALL OF YOUR DREAMS.*
Bables rose to fame in 2016 after his stellar performance in the highly-acclaimed independent film “Die Beautiful.” His role as Barbs Cordero made him a three-time Best Supporting Actor on several award-giving bodies such as Metro Manila Film Festival, Gawad Urian, and Luna Awards.
