It was an aunt-and-niece moment for Claudine and Julia!
The wounds of the past seem all healed up as Claudine Barretto and niece Julia Barretto found themselves in each other’s arms during a tribute party for starmaker Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan.
Aptly titled “Night of 100 Stars,” some of the industry’s biggest showbiz personalities convened on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in celebration of Mr. M’s birthday at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.
Among those who graced the event are Claudine and her niece Julia who were seen being cordial with each other.
In one of the snippets shared by Tim Yap on Instagram, Claudine and Julia were having an auntie-and-niece moment, as they are seen cuddled up together around other celebrities.

Another clip online shows Claudine delivering a message for Mr. M while Julia is sitting just behind her, intently listening to her message.

The recent videos have heavily indicated that Claudine and Julia might have already mended their rift in the past.
Claudine first showed hints of their prospering relationship in 2023—when she graced an interview in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”
During the interview, the actress says that she’s on good terms with sister Marjorie Barretto together with her nieces Dominique, Julia, Claudia, Dani and nephew Leon.
Claudine shares, “We see each other during lunches, dinners, meriendas with the family. We have a big family, and we small-talk.”
In the same interview, Claudine wishes Julia well in terms of big breaks—for she hopes that people will get to see more of her acting prowess.
As she puts it, “I’m proud of whatever it is [Julia] is achieving now. I want her to have more breaks para ma-showcase yung acting pa niya.”

Claudine Barretto and Julia’s distant feud
Before things got patched up with forgiveness, there was a point in time when Claudine and Gretchen Barretto were caught in a seeming feud with Julia and her mother Marjorie Barretto.
In March 2021, Claudine was believed to have aired tirades against Julia through a cryptic Instagram post. It reads, “I would rather be known in life as an honest sinner than a lying hypocrite.”
Claudine’s post comes after Julia’s confirmation of her relationship with boyfriend Gerald Anderson. Before that, Julia was in a relationship with Joshua Garcia, while Gerald used to date Bea Alonzo.
While there was no confirmation of her alleged inclination towards Bea, Claudine and Gretchen have sent the actress some flowers amid the breakup with Gerald.
During that time, Marjorie was also distant with Gretchen—with their feud getting more intense after they were caught in a catfight during their late father Miguel Barretto’s wake on October 16, 2024.
