Enrique: “We’re just really busy”
Enrique Gil has yet again dispelled the rumor that he and Liza Soberano have already gone their separate ways.
In an interview with Gretchen Fullido for “TV Patrol” on Thursday, February 1, 2024, the 31-year-old actor says that he’s still with Liza—happy together despite their busy schedules.
“Yeah, yeah, we’re happy. We’re just really busy,” Enrique answers when Gretchen asks him about the real score with Liza.
“I think we just realized na, in life, parang we shouldn’t always be centered around each other. We can do more, grow more, achieve more. And it just makes us better,” he adds.
Gretchen responds, “Grabe ang healthy ng relationship niyo. All graces with each other,” to which Enrique replies with, “Super, super. Thank you so much.”
News of their separation broke across the internet after an unreleased interview with Liza revealed that she and Enrique had broken up in October 2022. However, the report from PEP.ph said that there were requests for the interview not to be published.
While their alleged split has been circulating for quite some time already, Liza has been mum on the issue. Enrique, for his part, has been consistently dismissing the rumor time and time again.
In a separate interview in April 2023, Enrique says that he and Liza are doing well amid persistent breakup rumors.
He adds, “She’s just really busy with her stuff there. I am going to be visiting her maybe when my schedule clears up. I think she’s coming back here. But yeah, we’re good.”

Now that February 14 is fast approaching, and Liza’s in the United States for her upcoming film “Lisa Frankenstein,” Enrique says, “For Valentine’s, it’s gonna be my mom.”
He adds, “Sadly, Liza is going to be in the U.S. for ‘Lisa Frankenstein.’ But hopefully, if she gets back in time, she said she was gonna go and support me.”
“Lisa Frankenstein” is Liza’s Hollywood debut film headlined by Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Jenna Davis, Trina LaFargue, and Paola Andino. The film will premiere on February 9,. 2024.
Enrique, on the other hand, is gearing up for the run of his banner film “I Am Not Big Bird” produced by Kroma Entertainment’s ANIMA Studios and ABS-CBN Films’ Black Sheep.
Dropping on February 14, 2024, the story follows Enrique’s character Luis Carpio who gets mistaken for a popular adult film personality Big Bird in Thailand.
Enrique and Liza’s on-screen tandem, LizQuen, was propelled by the successful run of ABS-CBN’s “Forevermore” in 2014. After that, they landed roles as a love team in TV and movies, such as “Dolce Amore,” “My Ex and Whys,” and “Alone/Together.”
