KathNiel reunites on stage two weeks after their breakup announcement

Former lovers Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have shared the stage for the first time after they confirmed their breakup.

This happened on December 13 at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special held at the Araneta Coliseum.

ABS-CBN entertainment journalist MJ Felipe shared photos on X (formerly Twitter) of the two performing together on one stage.

KathNiel performed “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts, the theme song of the 1994 sitcom “Friends.”

Fans will be able to see the whole performance on December 16 and 17 in the televised version of the Christmas Special to be aired on ABS-CBN’s broadcast platforms.

Despite their recent confirmation of parting ways, the duo’s fans expressed excitement upon witnessing their idols back together on stage.

On November 30, Kathryn and Daniel took to Instagram to confirm the end of their long-standing relationship.

Kathryn shared her thoughts, saying, “I’ve been in showbiz for almost 21 years now, 12 years as the one-half of Kathniel, and 11 years as someone who loved Deej even behind the camera.” She continued, “We’ve been drifting apart for a while now, and we ultimately had to accept that we can’t go back to where we used to be. It just won’t be fair to pretend that everything is still the same.”

Following Kathryn’s statement, Daniel posted his own with the caption, “Ikaw at ako.“

At press time, however, Daniel deleted the breakup post on Instagram.
