Luis Manzano Cracks Joke About “It’s Your Lucky Day” Airing: “Ang Huling Dalawang Linggo”

Luis is firm that “It’s Your Lucky Day” will be remembered years later

Luis Manzano has kicked off the pilot episode of “It’s Your Lucky Day” with a joke that the temporary noontime show will go down in history for one particular reason.

During the first-ever episode of “It’s Your Lucky Day” on Saturday, October 14, Luis quipped that future generations will remember the program for having the most short-lived airing in television history.

Even one of Luis’s co-host, Melai Cantiveros has made the show funnier with another joke.

In a banter during the pilot episode, Luis asked Melai: “Kung si Anne, merong ‘It’s Showtime,’ kami naman merong…,” to which Melai replied, “It’s Short Time!”

Luis and Melai’s jokes came off as an allusion to the 12-day airing period given to “It’s Your Lucky Day.” The program, which will run from October 14 to 27, is the temporary replacement for the noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

Following the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board’s rejection of its motion for Reconsideration, “It’s Showtime” has decided not to appeal further and just serve the 12-day suspension imposed by the regulatory body for alleged “indecent acts.”

Luis Manzano admired for upholding “inclusivity”

Luis seemed to be dedicated to making the most out of “It’s Your Lucky Day,” when he puts the spotlight on a deaf person during the October 16 episode of the program.

May tumatawag sa akin kanina pa na isang ka-lucky natin na kung hindi ako nagkakamali ay medyo may kaunting problema po sa pandinig,” Luis says while heading up to an audience.

“Hi Lester. Hi, ako si Luis,” he asks the deaf audience both verbally and in sign language.

Still communicating through hand gestures, Luis has then invited Lester to dance, to which he eventually did even without music.

The short interaction was praised heavily by netizens who commended Luis for promoting “inclusivity” in television.

Aside from Luis, “It’s Your Lucky Day” is also hosted by Jennica Garcia, Melai Cantiveros, Shaina Magdayao, and Robi Domingo.

Guest hosts and special appearances are expected within the 12-day airing, including Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.
