Groove to this track’s funky sound!
In case you missed it, charming diva TALA (Tala Gil) dropped another single called “cherry soda.”
“Take me away, and I’ll be good to you / Maybe someday I’ll find the courage to leave your lips on mine if they don’t know, we’ll both be fine,” TALA sings on her new effort. This song is more refreshing than her previous work since it’s reminiscent of city pop. In other words, it’s something that Mariya Takeuchi fans can relate to.
This is her first for 2022, and TALA describes the effort as “a fun attempt at bubblegum pop.” In case you aren’t familiar, it’s something similar to J-Pop.
TALA adds that “cherry soda” is the love child of her singles “nothing personal” and “ain’t leaving without you.” The new single was written by her and co-produced by Cavil and Vintage Boy.
“cherry soda” has a funky sound and a sweet, modern melody. It aims to put listeners in the mood for an atmospheric, tantric experience.
About Tala Gil
TALA grew up in a family of artists. Her dad was part of the rock band Chillitees. Also, her cousin is the host and performer Nikki Gil.
Her musicality is a fusion of different genres. TALA was inspired by artists like Corrine Bailey Rae, Frank Ocean, June Mariezzy, Norah Jones, Tom Misch, and Yuna. Her influences resulted in music rife with feminism, heartbreak, and juvenile infatuation.
For her, writing means creating hypothetical situations. In her case, she creates scenarios in her head. TALA also sees the beauty in simplicity. The songs she writes are nothing personal.
She’s more motivated to work when she’s allowed to collab with other people. For her, even the nitty-gritty aspects of a project are interesting. She enjoys working with people who care about the tiniest things.
TALA’s rejuvenating new effort called “cherry soda” is up for streaming on your digital music platform of choice. This hit was released by Universal Records Philippines.
