Elon Musk has yet to respond to Mark Zuckerberg’s fight cancellation
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is putting an end to the proposed cage fight with Elon Musk, asserting that Musk “isn’t serious” about the showdown and that it’s time to move forward.
Mark took to the social platform Threads on August 13 to address the situation, mentioning that Elon did not confirm a date for the fight.

“Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead,” the Meta chief executive said.
Mark had before suggested August 26 for the match, but the details needed to be solidified. On the other hand, Elon had announced that the fight would be streamed on X, which he owns.
He also mentioned his preparation by stating he was “lifting weights throughout the day” and that all the proceeds would go to charity for veterans.

Mark, known for his Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, won awards in a California martial arts tournament in May. Now, he emphasizes his focus on competing with individuals who take the sport seriously.
How did the Mark vs. Elon fight start?
The saga began when the two tech giants playfully agreed to a cage fight in June, with the stakes heightened by the launch of Meta’s Threads, a direct competitor to Twitter.

Threads initially attracted more than 100 million sign-ups, making it one of the fastest-growing apps in history. But, subsequent industry estimates revealed a struggle to retain users and declining engagement.
